NOVICE & NOVICE FIELD TRIAL 26-27 June 2021

ROUND UP AND RESULTS

Well after much disappointment in rescheduling and cancelling previous trials for reasons out of our control, we were blessed to have the opportunity to run two novice utility field trials to finish of the season on a positive note.

The entries, enthusiasm and camaraderie on both days certainly did not disappoint with 10 GSPs and 5 Brittanies competing. It was encouraging to see some new participants and spectators getting involved in this wonderful sport and discipline.

Overall, the standard of dog work on both days was admirable with some fantastic displays from both dogs and handlers.

Special mentions go out to a first-time field trailer Sal Briganti whose Breton Cindy showed some real promise for the future, Michael Calleja with his two 16-month-old Bretons one of which placing second on Saturday, and Tony Higgans and Bob Moorfield for making the trip down from NSW.

I sincerely thank the property organisers and owners, the judges Mr Rob Baranello and Mr David Blacker and everyone else that helped make this weekend the success that it was, very much appreciated. Looking forward to bigger and better things for the 2022 season.

A massive congratulations to Michael Calleja and Marco Pagliaro for taking out first place respectively in the German Shorthaired Pointer Club Field Trial weekend. Michael winning on Saturday with Tussock and Marco winning Today with Ior. This gives Ior his second Novice win.A pleasure to watch such a clinical display of gundog work in the field, with the Breton doing what they do best in trying conditions.
Well done and thank you to the GSP club for putting on such a fantastic event.
Congratulations to everyone concerned .
